Clayton McDermott Hired as Brokerage Manager

Kemah, TX — Atlantic Cruising Yachts Texas (ACY Texas) has opened its Kemah, Texas headquarters, the company announced Thursday. James Tiernan, President of ACY Texas also welcomed new brokerage manager Clayton McDermott to the team, offering the Gulf Coast cruising community brokerage services and Dufour yacht sales.

To kick off its grand opening ACY Texas will host “Cocktails and Conversation,” a live virtual Q&A led by Tiernan and McDermott on January 27, discussing a range of yacht information.

McDermott brings a wealth of yacht sales knowledge and local Texas boating community connections to the team. A lifelong sailor originally from Galveston TX, McDermott holds the Master of Yachts 200 ton Limited, USCG 50 ton Masters License, and ASA 101, 102, and 103 certifications. McDermott has over 25,000 nautical miles spanning many waters under his belt over many waters and is also a certified PADI Divemaster.

ACY Texas parent company Atlantic Cruising Yachts is one of the largest sailing yacht dealerships in North America. The company represents Fountaine Pajot power and sailing catamarans, and Dufour monohulls and is consistently named Fountaine Pajot’s worldwide Dealer of the Year.

ACY Texas’ new headquarters will continue to benefit yacht owners, improving availability and delivery timelines for new Dufour yachts, due to ACY’s size and strong relationship with manufacturers. Dufour Yachts boasts one of the world’s largest shipyards, based in La Rochelle, France. The company’s line of monohulls ranges from 31 to 63 feet, and emphasize performance, comfort, and responsive, intuitive design.
