Every buyer’s journey to yacht ownership is unique. Phil Hammar and his family’s journey began in 2007. At the time, they were not quite sure what type, brand, or features to explore. Their son was 18-months-old at the time, so the safety of a vessel was of the utmost importance. The Astréa 42: Debuting in America at Atlantic Cruising Yachts

This September, the Astréa 42 will make its North American debut at Atlantic Cruising Yachts headquarters in Annapolis, MD.

Since the Astréa 42 was revealed at the La Grande Motte International Boat Show in April 2018, Fountaine Pajot has released intricate renderings and a 360-degree tour of the sailing catamaran. As of May 2018, she received her first award: the Best Multihull of the Year juried by French magazines Le Monde de Multicoque and Voile Magazine.

Baptiste Bardout is a new face on the docks of Atlantic Cruising Yachts and comes to us from his home country of France. Baptiste was working as the head of sales for a construction company when he decided to make a change, leave behind his steady job, and follow his passions – sailing and the sea. He was inspired by his fond childhood memories of sailing, scuba diving, and fishing with his family. He grew to love the “sound and energy” of the sea.

I traveled to La Rochelle, France the first week of May to visit the Fountaine Pajot factory. I met with Fountaine Pajot executives Romain Motteau and Steven Guedeu and previewed the new Astréa 42. There have been so many exciting developments with this company over the last year, it’s sometimes hard to keep up with them. Spending quality time together to plan for the future was a welcomed opportunity.
