Commissioning and Service Technician

Position Available in Fort Lauderdale, FL

Reports to Director, Commissioning, and Service

The Commissioning and Service Technician will aid and assist in commissioning of new and used sail and powerboats.

Technical Experience

  • Knowledge of boat systems, electronics, plumbing, air conditioning, 12V and 110 Systems, and sailboat rigging knowledge
  • Must be organized and computer savvy
  • Customer and vendor interface required
  • Must have a minimum of 5 Years of marine experience (technical experience plus general understanding of the marine industry)
  • Working and hands-on knowledge of all major boat systems
  • Ideal candidate would have a Captain’s Six-Pack License (not required)
  • TWIC Card
  • Excellent customer service attitude and communication skills, including teaching customers
    boat systems
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Interface with clients, vendors and staff to coordinate, delegate, organize and plan for successful and complete commissioning and client handover.
  • Some travel required

Client After‐Sales Service and Warranty Coordinator

Position Available in Annapolis, MD

The Client After‐Sales and Warranty Coordinator will assist the Client After-Sales and Warranty Manager on all after-sales functions including warranty, service, and parts. Communicate with customers, charter companies, manufacturers, contractors, and company personnel at multiple locations to resolve warranty and service issues and ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Process incoming warranty, service, and parts requests from customers and affiliated charter bases under Waypoints Yacht Charters.

Warranty

  • Processes warranty claims on a timely basis for each boat owner and/or charter base.
  • Prioritize inquiries according to importance and subject.
  • Regularly update the customers on the status of the claims submitted.
  • Processes all warranty paperwork to ensure proper and accurate documentation.
  • Follow up and coordinate warranty claims with manufacturers.
  • Resubmit all rejected claims promptly or receive authorization to write them off.
  • Reconcile all warranty receivables with payments through the appropriate accounting schedule.
  • Follows up on payment of outstanding claims.
  • Manage warranty contributions to maintain client goodwill and minimize company expense.
  • Handles and resolves all claim corrections and charge‐back.
  • File and maintains all service records as required by the manufacturers.

After Sales Service Support

  • Processes Part order requests for customers or Charter Bases.
  • Quote the customers for correct parts and prices.
  • Collect approved quotes.
  • Make sure the customers are billed and paid.
  • Order parts
  • Manage the shipping and delivery of the parts.
  • Manage recalls and factory service bulletins.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in marine/yacht management/boat dealership or comparable
    environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Thrive in a high pace environment
