Fountaine Pajot’s NEW Astréa 42 & Alegria 67 at the 2019 Miami International Boat Show

The Miami International Boat Show is right around the corner! The event kicks off at the Miami Marine Stadium on Thursday, February 14. As the largest Fountaine Pajot dealer worldwide, our team is thrilled to be presenting the Astréa 42 and Alegria 67 at the show. These award-winning catamarans will be available for sea trials February 19-20 (this opportunity is exclusive to buyers).

Alegria 67 – Flagship Cruising Like Never Before

What People Are Saying:

I recently attended the European Debut of the Astréa 42 and Alegria 67 at the Cannes Boat Show. I personally showed the new yachts to some of my American clients. One such client named Captain Michael Schoettle (Summerland 40) said of the Alegria 67, “Splendid yacht! Perfect for both my large family and for my crewed charter project!”. His favorite features were the optional hot tub, ideally built into the yacht’s foredeck, and the hydraulic swim platform (flush with her line) for sunbathing, relaxing, scuba diving, or launch for his dinghy. Industry critics have echoed similar sentiments – the Alegria 67 is the winner of Best Monohull Sailing Yacht in Asia and the Astréa 42 is the winner of the prestigious European Yacht of the Year award.

Feature Highlights:

The goal for the Alegria 67 (meaning “Joy”) was to design a luxurious flagship living experience for sailors with peak standards. She is an ocean-crossing, boldly modern sailing catamaran that carries an extensive flybridge (105 sq.ft.) with a proper sea-view terrace, dual flybridge helms, and forward facing cockpit that can accommodate a hot tub. All her features are comparable to the finest homes.

The Alegria 67’s stunning interior (246 sq.ft. saloon) offers softer and more asymmetrical lines that serve to emulate the latest trends in contemporary designs. The Alegria 67’s expansive interior features a soft and elegant aesthetic with muted contemporary tones, superior quality finishes, and expansive windows to enhance the natural light throughout.

Personal Favorites:

My favorite features are her sleek lines, striking blade-like reverse plum bows, elegant profile, and her curved Flybridge supports. My wife’s favorites include the 72 sq.ft. Owner’s Suite and private bathroom featuring a large wardrobe, sofa, private hot tub access, double vanity sinks, separate head, and Italian shower. The Alegria 67 promises to continue Fountaine Pajot’s reputation for outstanding performance at sea, with maximum stability and superb balance for outstanding comfort underway and at anchor. She is a must see at the 2019 Miami International Boat Show!

Astréa 42 – Cruising in Comfort

Standout Features:

Fountaine Pajot, a leader in cruising catamaran technology and design for over 42 years, has again raised the bar with the new mid-size blue water sailing catamaran called the Astréa 42. The Astréa 42 is distinguished by its abundance of natural light, energetic lines, elegant living spaces, and unparalleled comfort while delivering sheer pleasure underway.

The spacious cockpit, equipped with an optional integrated plancha grill, is the perfect place to relax and feel at one with the sea, enhanced by the Beach Club option that provides an embedded gangway flush with her line. The incredibly comfortable lounge has been designed with expansive panoramic windows that bathe the interior in natural light. Her U-shaped galley transitions seamlessly with the cockpit courtesy of a vast sliding pocket door. Available in two versions – Owner and Quatuor – with 12 bathroom layout options, the Astréa 42 has everything needed to fulfill your casual or extended cruising dreams. A joy to share as a couple or with family and friends, this new catamaran promises every leg of your travels will be memorable.

Continuation of Greatness:

The Astréa 42 demonstrates the boatyard’s commitment to innovation while preserving the classic identity of the Fountaine Pajot sailing catamarans range. She features all the elements that contributed to making our latest new boat, the Saona 47, an international success. Her inverted bow, the new signature mark of the range, gives the boat an elegant and dynamic line while offering incomparable interior space. The Astréa 42 was conceived and designed to facilitate free-flowing movement throughout the yacht, as well as linking the helm station with the outdoor relaxation and living spaces from coachroof to cockpit. The coachroof features a double seat at the helm station and a built-in sun lounger for enjoying idyllic days together.

My Takeaways:

This is a catamaran that’ll make you feel proud to be a member of the Fountaine Pajot family. I am astounded by how Olivier Racoupeau’s design team could make this Astréa 42 look and feel like her sisters, the Saona 47 and Alegria 67, with incredible use of light, volume, and comfort, all while keeping true to their history of proven performance and value. Only the unique industry expertise of Fountaine Pajot could pull this off. She is an excellent balance at a great price point! With her RTM & infusion technology along with composite bulkheads, the Astréa 42 is lighter than her competitor. This allows the Astréa 42 to reverse the vicious heavy-boat-drag cycle and thereby reduce the need for heavier sails, mast, fittings, engines, and fuel tanks. This gives it a better sail surface to weight ratio advantage. Her high bridge deck clearance, one of the best in the industry, allows her to ride over the waves to remain safe and comfortable.
