Our Yacht Commissioning Services

Ken Krasko, Commissioning  Manager

Atlantic Cruising Yachts is known around the world as the experts for commissioning and outfitting a new cruising yacht.

The depth of resources and talent pool of skilled yacht craftsmen is unequaled in North America.  Our mild climate allows work to be carried out all 12 months of the year, leading to a stable pool of non-transient, highly skilled labor.  The popularity of Annapolis as yacht service destination is also due to its location midway up the Atlantic coast, between Florida and New England.

Nowhere will you find a more experienced and better organized yacht commissioning and service team, than at Atlantic Cruising Yachts.

Our team is led by Ken Krasko, as commissioning and service manager.  Over his 25+ years experience, Ken has personally managed literally HUNDREDS of Jeanneau commissioning projects, HUNDREDS of Fountaine Pajot commissioning projects, and HUNDREDS of other brands.   He knows these boats inside and out.   He understands what has worked and what has not worked for different applications, and which products are best supported by their manufacturers.  He knows what systems and installations best meet the rigors of offshore cruising yachts and charter applications in the Caribbean, Bahamas, and East Coast.

“I wanted to send a note thanking you guys for the great job you did in helping me with the yacht purchasing processes. Your knowledge and intimate understanding of the sail boats, equipment, outting, finacing, and insurance options made the process much less intimiating to me. In fact I would have to say it was actually fun. Not something I have ever said about any other large purchase I have been through. So thanks again, you have a great team there at ACY.”

The commissioning process is a unique experience at Atlantic Cruising Yachts.

It involves customizing your boat to fit your particular cruising plans, with the best possible mix of factory and locally installed equipment. Where most dealers receive the boat from the manufacturer, rig and bottom paint it and then hand it over, we go much further.

Our process involves several meetings (both in person and by teleconference) with Ken and his team, from the time of planning and placing your initial order, finalizing equipment choices, receiving your new boat on arrival, monitoring the commissioning process, all the way to the final handover and technical briefing.  You’ll be involved every step of the way.

We have commissioned over 1,500 boats, “Each One Different, Just Like Their Owners!”
